About Me
My Education
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison as a biology major. After being accepted to multiple dental schools, I selected the University of Utah's School of Dentistry. The basis for my decision was the strength of the faculty, the emphasis the school places on clinical work and service to the community.
Commitment to Community Health
The University of Utah has a strong commitment to serving patients of all backgrounds and means. The curriculum is heavily clinic based which allowed me to work with a great number of patients. I selected the Community-Engaged Patient Care pathway as a means to focus on giving back. I currently volunteer at a refugee clinic to improve the oral health in refugees primarily from Somalia, Iraq, Myanmar, Uganda, and Sudan. I am a National Health Service Corps Scholar that will be working in a Community Health Center for at least two years after my graduation in 2024.
My Skillset
One of the things I am most proud of is my ability to make my patients feel comfortable and relaxed when I am working with them. I believe the most important aspect of dentistry is patient comfort and trust. Once this is established, it then allows us to apply the technical expertise we have developed.
My Goals
I am looking for an opportunity to work at a Community Health Center with a team that runs on clear communication. I want to align myself with a company I believe in and where I can create positive change. I have been fortunate for the things I have and want to give back.
